Tlaloc stands as one of the most revered and powerful nature deities that formed the core of major Mesoamerican religions. Derived from the Nahuatl word for "earth," Tlaloc's name signifies his pivotal role in nurturing crops through rainfall. Annual festivals and ritualistic offerings were conducted in honor of Tlaloc within the sacred precincts of Tenochtitlan, as well as at the revered Mount Tlaloc situated to the east.
