TKO 1351 FIRST Robotics Driver Station/Operator Interface
thingiverse
This is team TKO 1351's operator interface/driver station used in FIRST robotics competitions! If you decide to make it, please post your make and leave a comment with your team #! We'd love to know what improvements/MODs can be made. Also, feel free to post remixes to our design with more diverse attachments. We built this operator interface easily for transport, storage, and use of driver and operator controls. The joysticks for the operator are elevated for comfort. There is space between the two levels to store small tools and necessities (maybe hex keys, ethernet etc). It can also fit a laptop. We added a handle to make it easy to carry. This OI was designed to be used with a Logitech Gamepad F310 and two Logitech Attack 3 joysticks. In addition to these 3D printed parts, you will need a sheet of polycarbonate. These should be identical in size (ours were 8'' x 17''). I recommend buying some rubber pads or VELCRO to adhere to the bottom of the OI so it does not slip and move. A rubber band is used to hold the F310 in place. To make connections easy, we adhered a USB hub below the top level polycarbonate. We use a USB extender connected to the USB hub for flexibility. Parts Needed: Polycarbonate Rubber Pads/Velcro Rubber Band (for controller mount) 10-24 or 10-32 nuts and bolts Wood Screws (optional for use on standoffs. Sometimes the 10-24/32 do not thread well) 1x handle.stl 8x joystickfittings.stl 1x logitechcontrollermount.stl 1xcablewrap 4-6x standoffv2.stl Assembly: Cut the two sheets of polycarbonate to size (8'' x 17'' each) Drill holes for standoff screws and handle on both plates Drill holes for the 8 joystick mounts on the top plate Drill holes for the F310 mount on the bottom plate Attach the joystick fittings to the top plate (#10 nuts and bolts) Attach the controller mount (F310) to bottom plate (#10 nuts and bolts) Attach the standoffs and handle to top plate (use wood screws or #10 bolts) Attach the standoffs and handle to bottom plate (use wood screws or #10 bolts) Arrange and zip tie wiring Update 1: Standoffv2 and tkostandoffv2 replaced the standoffv1 and tkostandoffv1. Issue with scaling. These are now adequately scaled.
