The extinct Terror Bird (Itanis Walleri), a large flightless carnivorous bird belonging to the Phorusrhacidae family, was native to North America. Standing at 1.9 meters tall and weighing approximately 150 kilograms, this fearsome creature existed around 3.1 million years ago. In addition to the model itself, a Max version is available with rigging for the Terror Bird (pelvis, neck, head, legs, wings, claws, spine, and mouth). The main scene features Mental Ray materials, while a second scene includes standard materials with a dark background picture. A third scene offers a walk cycle animation using Mental Ray render. Moreover, an included fight scene pits the Terror Bird against a Smilodon (saber-toothed tiger). This scene replicates the presentation image exactly, including elements like palm trees, rocks, grass, and a dead tree. The fur on both the bird and grass is rendered using the Hair and Fur modifier. However, it's crucial to note that the Smilodon is not rigged. The polycount for the Smilodon stands at 581340, and the model is skillfully skinned with a clean, quad-only mesh, making it easy to animate and suitable for gaming purposes. The fur is created using the Hair and Fur modifier, and textures are detailed enough for close views. Various exchange formats, including OBJ, 3DS, FBX, and Max 8, are available. It's worth mentioning that these exported formats do not include rigging but come with UVW mapping and the same textures as the native file. They also feature a quad-only structure. Texture materials are included in each archive. The model is print-ready, measuring 7.23 x 13.38 x 121.87 cm. Finally, the Smilodon model can be accessed in Max format, OBJ, and STL versions.
