Titanic Staircase Clock - mostly a fail

thingiverse

A user on Thingiverse asked me if it were possible to make a Titanic staircase clock. I figured the easiest way would be to find pics on the internet of it and do photogrammetry to come up with a model. It was harder than I thought. My first try yielded no output at all. I found some video so grabbed more pics of the titanic staircase clock and tried to do photogrammetry just on those pics. It was a long shot but it mostly worked. However, the mesh with the image texture looks nice but the raw output model is almost recognizable but is pretty lumpy so is pretty much unusable. Anyway, here's the results if you care to see them. I tried with both color and by desaturating all of the images. Desaturation actually made the output worse so that didn't help. I figure if I go to a Titanic museum and there's a staircase clock I might linger around and take a bunch of pics of it if that's not too obvious. [snicker]
