The joints have been updated on 4/9/2014 for simpler assembly. To insert the ball into the socket, align the grooves with the corners of the socket. After sliding the ball in place, turn it to lock it securely. Despite being tight, these joints might still need sanding for a perfect fit. A video demonstrating the new joints can be found at http://youtu.be/WJXJiYCuqIs and they are incorporated into files labeled v2. This model is big, poseable, and ready for action. However, be cautious when assembling if you're using PLA, as the joints may crack and require sanding for a smooth fit. The gun has also been slightly reduced in size, and indentations have been added to the balls of the joints to aid assembly.
