I'm a huge fan of the game Titanfall, which I fell in love with instantly. So, I decided to recreate the Atlas mech as a build-it-yourself action figure that anyone can have their own titan. My goal was to print the titan at the scale of the collector's edition, which is about 18 inches tall. The model itself was created in 1:1 scale and, as you can see, it's almost as detailed as the in-game model. Plus, it allows you to print any size you want by scaling it to fit your printer bed. As an avid gamer, you might notice that some geometry is not exactly like in the game. But don't worry, this is due to my limited skills in modeling complex surface geometry - most of the detail is there and correct! To make sure everything moves smoothly, I made most of the moving joints with ball joints and sockets. This way, if something doesn't fit right or goes wrong during printing, you only need to print that part again. The fits between all leg joints are super tight, and the faces will be almost an interference fit so the fiction stops the joints from moving while stationary.
