I tightened the hotend in my titan extruder clone because it was loose, likely due to a poor fit and weak cover. To fix this issue, I designed a stronger cover that securely locks the hotend in place when the screws are tightened. After using this new cover for an extended period, I noticed significant improvements in print quality compared to the original cover. Update 2019-09-03: Unfortunately, the hotend became loose again, and I also observed that the gear was slightly tilted upward. To address these problems, I created a version 2 of the cover design. This updated design provides a stronger grip on the hotend and features an additional tightening mechanism using a short 3mm screw if necessary. Currently, however, the fit is perfect, and no movement occurs. When assembling the new cover, it's essential to use screws approximately 30-35mm long. Additionally, a longer screw (at least 40mm) may be required to avoid over-tightening the gear; this screw can be omitted if unavailable. The screw holes are intentionally closed with one layer to allow for printability without support. After printing, simply use a 3mm drill to open them up.
