Titan E3Dv6 & Volcano fan mounts
thingiverse
This remix of Zeeflyboys excellent magnetic combo fan mount + cooling duct system for the E3D is a simple, elegant, and effective way to make quick nozzle or hot-end changes. Three teeny issues needed to be overcome: 1. The original duct didn't fit into the mouth of my 50mm fan. A resize was done to suit what I had; your mileage may vary. 2. The 8x2mm N52 magnets required socket resizes, but even with a tight press fit they were so strong that they kept pulling out of the socket in the duct. Editing the duct to have the magnet inside made it stay put once seated, despite some faff getting it there initially. Although the extra distance between the magnets has weakened the hold and caused the fan to wobble slightly, it hasn't moved enough yet to bump a print so I may not bother trying anything else. 3. Switching over to another hotend with a volcano block regularly required a longer duct to accommodate that. Tinkercad jiggering resulted in a longer duct. The bits are close to the heater block, so PETG was used at 100% infill. The 50mm fan duct was printed upright, and the cooling-block clip for the 30mm was face down without any supports. A brim may be needed if your bed adhesion is marginal, but with printbite at 75°C for PETG I get a solid hold even at high speeds like 50mm/s.
