Titan Aero mount and part cooling duct for Cetus3D printer
thingiverse
I designed this in Fusion 360 so I could mount a Titan Aero extruder on my Cetus3D MkII extended printer. My main goal was to achieve several objectives: First, the tip of the nozzle would remain in its stock location (which I accomplished within a millimeter or so). Second, I aimed for maximum lightness since plastic creeps over time, and lighter designs are generally better. Third, I positioned the inductive probe as close to the nozzle's centerline as possible. Finally, adjusting the inductive probe height or removing it altogether should be simple and quick. Overall, I'm satisfied with the design, but my only concern is that this structure is cantilevered from the X-axis rail, which means plastic creeps will cause it to tip slightly over time as the printed geometry shifts. So far, however, I haven't noticed any print defects directly attributable to this slight tilt. If you want to utilize the full X-travel of a Cetus printer, you'll need to use a pancake stepper for the extruder since the stock motor will hit the Z-axis motor before it reaches the limit switch. Additionally, the 3:1 gearing of the Titan Aero means that you don't require the high torque of a standard NEMA 17 motor for the extruder. One crucial note is that if Up Studio won't allow approximately 300% over-extrusion (and I have no idea whether it can or can't), then you'll need to switch to an aftermarket CPU such as the TinyFab. The same applies to using the inductive probe for bed leveling.
