Titan Aero Fan Duct

Titan Aero Fan Duct

thingiverse

I kept hitting the hotend fan with my fingers while setting up prints. I designed this fan duct to make the printer slightly cooler looking and prevent myself from inserting my fingers into a running fan. If your E3D fan resembles the one pictured, it should fit perfectly without any additional fasteners. My duct is currently attached securely without glue, tape, or screws. A significant amount of support material is necessary, especially at 50% infill density, as indicated by a minor imperfection near the top of the horn. I initially set my supports to 50% density on the build plate only; however, it's essential to apply supports uniformly across the entire print for optimal results. This duct adds a noticeable whistling sound to the fan noise on my printer. While it's not excessively loud, the whistle has an impact, so individuals seeking the quietest possible operation may want to consider alternative designs.
