Tissue Paper Hot Air Balloon & Launcher
thingiverse
This simple hot air balloon project demands just 11 sheets of 20" x 30" tissue paper (for a three-sided structure) and is featured in "The Makerspace Workbench," part of the Learning In A Makerspace chapter from Maker Media. To construct the balloon, either print the template or follow the folding and cutting instructions provided. Secure overlapping pieces with a glue stick and trim the base, reinforcing it with a 12" coat hanger ring. For the launcher, insert a 6" x 24" stovepipe within an 8" x 24" one using 1.5" fasteners. Attach three 12" shelving brackets as legs and secure with fasteners. Utilize a small camping stove as the heat source, but exercise caution to prevent igniting the balloon.
