Tippe Top Launcher

Tippe Top Launcher

The mushroom-shaped Tippe Top can be difficult to start spinning, it takes some practice. I made this launcher to provide an alternative to the usual finger-snapping technique. You need a Tippe Top, a strong nylon thread about 30 cm long, and the launcher.  Tie a loop in one end of the thread (or use the EndStop below) and wrap the other end around the Tippe Top axle tightly. Then insert the launcher, which keeps the axle from moving as you pull the thread out.  After some practice you can initiate much faster spins this way.  I will add a video on my YouTube Channel. The “EndStop” can be tied to the end of the string, giving a better method for grabbing the end than a loop. I recommend strong nylon thread 0.5 mm in diameter.Easy to print, no supports needed.  Prints in under 30 minutes. Works with all sizes of Tippe Top. I have an XL aluminum Tippe Top (sold by Grand Illusions) which is difficult to spin using the usual technique, but this launcher can really get it going fast.
