This two-part tip holder accommodates eight octet tips, spaced 9mm apart for easy manipulation using microtiter plates or similar devices. The assembled tool includes an ejector bar to release the tips efficiently. Ideal for manual loading and amine coupling tasks to save time and protein, improvements are needed in ergonomics and functionality of the ejection mechanism. A future goal is to develop an indexed carrier that accurately moves tips between wells without damaging biosensor surfaces. Printed by Metrix in Seattle, designed in OpenSCAD by Jeff Dantzler, ensure high infill (80%+) for strong adhesion and layer bonding. Low infill (e.g., 50%) may result in breakage at the cone/cylinder junction due to delicate projections.
