Tip - Folding Camp Table
thingiverse
Tip inserted into horizontal bar is designed to slide snugly into bracket mounted underneath slatted, folding table top. The PLA white and blue design was uploaded on 12/27/2015 as a final set of files and images of a successful print. They fit perfectly just a bit more tightly than the originals which is actually a good thing. To avoid this issue originally I couldn't have moved the block inward as much to create that slot in the larger end but even with the bigger slot the end still holds well onto the tubing it goes on. Recreating the item worked out better when starting off with a full-sized cylinder then 'difference'ing what needed to be removed instead of creating upper and lower cylinders and the subtracted elements in OpenSCAD. The original prints were weak due to this method. Print Settings: Printer Brand is SeeMeCNC and Printer is ORION Delta 3D Printer. Rafts and Supports are both No and the Notes include printing with skirted end facing up. The item consists of several cylinders mated together and some 'difference'd out in OpenSCAD. A cube was used to create the flat spot on the outside of the skirt, which allows the table top to sit flush on the horizontal members and associated tips. Brackets mounted underneath the table top hold the post end keeping the top connected to the folding table base. 12/26/2015 sized things up a bit because the original was coming out too small in diameter for the inserts. This has led to discovering that this thing is hollow! The peg portion that slips into the table bracket at least, and perhaps due to how it was created with so many different cylinders. While printing v.2, it fell over almost halfway through, time to step back take one more look then print again!
