TINYWHOOV EXTRA LIGHT - 3D PRINTED VERSION (V4)
thingiverse
This is a 3D printed version of the Tiny Whoov (V4 already). **For those who have already printed V1, V2 or V3:** On V4, I reduced frame global size and wall thickness to minimize weight (only 16 grams now!!!) and made cam holder & battery hatch separately in case you don't need them or want to replace them. Upon request, I've also separated the skirt from the main body so that you don't need to print support and can print it in another frictionless material. **For others:** It's a micro RC hovercraft based on microquads electronics (check scratchbuild version to know more). Still super easy: you need to print and glue 4 parts: - Main body - Skirt - The battery hatch (optional) - The cam holder (optional) General infos about Tiny Whoov: https://youtu.be/-kZM0Icg0BY https://youtu.be/6sUAy4ytuQw FEW OTHER TIPS FOR THE BUILD: 1) Print the main body and skirt horizontally, and the fins vertically (it will look much better). 2) Get the right positioning for the motors!!! Back motors of the quad = thrust and direction Front motors of the quad = lift (hover) 2bis) If you use inductrix/whoop propellers > they work much better when blowing air towards the motors (like they do on the micro quad). If you reverse, you will lose efficiency. 3) Try to keep it as light as possible (under 50-40gr for best performances). 4) You can add a "skirt" made of a plastic bag to make it even better, but it works very well without it. Please note that this 3D printed version is a bit heavier than the foam one (featured in my first video). It works very well but if you want best performances, you should make it in foam (check my other things for all infos and drawings). Feedbacks appreciated! And if you really love it, share it and/or leave me a tip - that will help me go with this project. Darrel Imhoff: thanks for your help and the pictures Enjoy!
