TinyTrainer Radiator top mount plate for HDZero Whoop Lite
thingiverse
Hi All, Constructing my first drone, a [TinyTrainer](https://flyfive33.com/), I came to the following realizations: 1. The HDZero Whoop Lite VTX gets very hot and needs plenty of cooling; 2. Mounting the HDZero on top of the controller using an interface plate takes up space and reduces necessary cooling airflow; To resolve these issues heatsinks from a previous projects were cut up into a 20mm x 20mm block, mounted slightly back on the board to give more space to the mipi cable and attached to a custom top mount plate. This increases the top cooling surface while allowing more air to also pass under the VTX board. Exposing an aluminum surface in direct contact with the VTX to external elements is not ideal, it does receive minor protection via the tiny side plates. Please use caution when handling the drone as radiator does get hot. I have included the STL file and the original OpenScad so that you can customize for your project and heatsink. Remixes are most welcome! Notes: - v1: initial design - v2: larger protective fins - Non-conductive thermal paste (for CPU) to increase heat transfer. Thank you [GreatHobbies](https://www.greathobbies.com/) and [HDZero](https://www.hd-zero.com/) for your help and great advice. Have Fun in Never Land! Cheers, GreenTree2541
