tiny whoop motor bumpers
thingiverse
I wanted to use my super light acro frame, printed in carbon fiber pet-g, but also utilize my trusty carbon fiber x-braces, which really make a huge difference, however they don't fit on bare motors, and as I'm still quite new to multi-rotors, crashes do happen frequently, so I wanted to safeguard the wires as well on these tiny 6mm brushed motors used by Tiny Whoops. So I designed and printed these "bumpers" for the bottom of the motors. A small pin keeps them from bottoming out, and just enough space allows the wires to fit. So far, this design has worked and fitted perfectly! (It only took five revisions!) Too small? Over-extrude. Too tight? Under-extrude. Tolerances are that precise at this scale. (Photos show the difference in weight between the "cockroach" frame from Newbeedrone and my acro frame, which already has carbon fiber x-braces installed and is still lighter!)
