Tiny Touch (the smallest DIY Z-probe) for Anet A8
thingiverse
**Update 5 May 2020**: [MK3 is now available as a new design](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4328025). It's completely revamped. **Update 15 Oct 2019**: After using Tiny Touch for some time, I realized the M3 bolt that screws into the flag is a design flaw. Sometimes you might screw it in at an angle, which can cause it to snag on the hole. I redesigned the body and flag so the M3 bolt and cap are no longer needed. Here's Tiny Touch MK2, with updated build instructions. --- **Quick Update**: - Added a YouTube video showing it in action: https://youtu.be/RZY6Nvi4sqs - M48 results ``` Send: M48 Recv: M48 Z-Probe Repeatability Test Recv: Finished! Recv: Mean: 0.022500 Min: 0.000 Max: 0.040 Range: 0.040 Recv: Standard Deviation: 0.009487 ``` --- The main difference from the original is that I made the body slightly larger. Maybe because I print with ABS and there's shrinkage. And I flattened the top part, again, because I couldn't fit the optical endstop flush to the back. And I added 1mm easy-to-break-off support for the overhang. Complete step-by-step guide now available on [my blog](http://soemarko.com/blog/tiny-touch-the-smallest-diy-z-probe-for-anet-a8). After you make this, I highly recommend replacing the spring bed mount with a [solid bed mount](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3852796).
