Tiny Tina RC Drone - more robust
thingiverse
I adore my Tiny Tina, but I was going crazy every time I had to swap out the damaged propguards. On top of that, there were several other issues that bugged me, so here's my take on a more improved, robust version. Base: I've come up with a different way to connect the Base and Top sections. Simply use 2 zipties as before, but attach them to the left and right sides of the frame instead. This prevents the zipties from damaging the soldered connections at the ESCs, which was a major problem for me. A small "F" is marked on it, indicating the front of your vehicle. Camera mount: I wasn't able to use the original method of attaching the camera holder to the top due to some issues. If I used the ziptie from the top, the camera wouldn't fit properly. On the other hand, using it from the bottom would put pressure on a connector at the top of my flytower. The new camera holder fixes this problem. Top and Propguard: The most significant improvement is that I no longer have to replace the entire top every time I lose a propguard. Instead, I've split the top into two parts. If you ever break the (more robust) propguard, simply print a new one and attach it without disassembling the whole Tina. There are small "F"s on it, indicating the front of your vehicle. Steps to replace the propguard: 1. Print a new one. 2. Cut the two zipties connecting the propguard and top. 3. Remove the old propguard. 4. Attach the new propguard. 5. Use 2 zipties to reconnect these parts again. No need to disassemble the whole thing repeatedly! Added weight compared to the original: 9 grams Update: The PropguardV4 is not tested yet, but it provides some guidance on how to mount the top against the propguard with less room for unwanted motion.
