Tiny Tiki

Tiny Tiki

I had a notion for a desktop tiki lamp that would power up from your USB port. Inside would be a minuscule fan and an LED light, pointing upwards at a snippet of silk, which would flutter in the breeze and resemble a flame. This effect isn't entirely unique, but my application is one-of-a-kind. I wanted to turn your work cubicle into a beachside retreat. I'm sure I'd sell a ton to the tourists flocking to Hawaii. I got everything hooked up and... the fan was too anemic to make the "flame" flutter. I'm positive I could get it working with a more powerful fan if I weren't so easily sidetracked. It's been two months since I last touched it, other projects have piqued my interest, so maybe someone will enjoy fiddling with it. Don't attempt to sell the original or any derivatives without my consent, because I might get back to it soon.
