I'm torn about publishing it, but maybe it's worth sharing after all. It could help others avoid tossing out their scissors and even give them motivation to repair broken items. The cheap plastic insert that came with the scissors is surprisingly useful as a counterbalance for the joint. However, I had anticipated that this construction wouldn't hold up as well as the traditional tapped holes. A simple OpenScad script brought new life to my old scissors. After printing, use an M3 screw tap to get the hole ready for the bolt.
