Small two-piece Spool for storing your leftovers or filament samples. I use it for my own samples. The idea behind this spool was inspired by Dingoboy71/Tamel55, who unfortunately didn't provide enough data about their design. So, I decided to create my own version. This spool comes in two parts: male and female. Printing it is easy; just lay the large diameter part flat on your print bed without a raft or brim. The improved versions have better-angled holes, making it simple to secure filament ends within the spool (compatible with 1.75mm and 2.85mm filament). Key dimensions include an inner diameter of approximately 52.5mm (~2.04 inches) and an outer diameter of about 120mm (~4.72 inches). The thread size is 60x4. You can see the normal spool in photo 1, while photos 2-3 show the improved version, and photos 4-5 display the standard design. To print this spool, use 20% infill – it's stiff enough. I used a layer height of 0.2mm with four bottom solid layers and five top solid layers. You can also print the two parts in different colors if you prefer. Update: June 2018 – Version V9 & V7 are now available, featuring improved filament guides that allow you to stack spools without any hassle. These new versions require a bit more filament but are well worth it. Please note that these designs haven't been tested with 2.85mm filament and may not be compatible; however, they work perfectly with 1.75mm filament.
