Tiny Pointless Boxes
thingiverse
These tiny containers are designed to hold various small treasures - such as a handful of coins, a few delicate seashells, an exquisite pinky ring, a pinch of salt, a prized pebble, a crumpled note with your cherished word on it, a tiny pencil sharpener, and a sprinkling of pencil shavings. It's a fun way to engage friends and family in conversation. Share the interesting items you store in each one and watch them wonder what stories lie behind each small treasure. I created this design as a creative outlet while debugging some filament issues, thinking a playful box is more captivating than just printing a simple cube. The lid fits snugly into place with a satisfying friction-fit. To print the lid, you can flip it upside down to avoid supports or right-side up, with supports enabled for the outer lip - both methods work equally well and let you choose your desired finish based on your slicer resolution settings and preferred orientation. This design requires minimal filament, using just over 2 meters depending on your slicer settings. You can stash a special treat, like a favourite candy, on your desk as an afternoon reward, keeping it safe from prying eyes and eager hands. Update - I made some revisions to the mesh to improve its square shape and added a small tray to hold three of these little containers.
