Tiny Planetary Gears Set
cults3d
A Small Planetary Gears System with Adjustable Ratio and Open Design The planetary gears system features a 4:1 ratio per stage, with the option to add as many stages as desired. The entire mechanism is housed in a small, open enclosure that allows for easy viewing of the gears. Each gear is designed with a circular pitch of 2.5mm and slightly beveled teeth tips to eliminate excess material from the first layers. This results in minimal waste and reduced need for cleaning. The OpenSCAD design file is not fully parametric, as it includes only specific parameters such as clearance (set at 0.2), backslash (set at 0.1), pressure angle (set at 22.5), tolerances between nuts and bolts (set at 0.4), and bolt length. Any other modifications will not be recognized. To work with the OpenSCAD design, you'll need to access the following libraries: Public Domain Involute Parameterized Gears by LeemonBaird: thingiverse.com/thing:5505 Poor man's openscad screw library: thingiverse.com/thing:8796 Knurled surface finishing library: thingiverse.com/thing:9095 These libraries are included in the ZIP file, along with STL files for each component and build plates for sets of 1 to 4 stages. Upgrade kits from 1 stage to 2, 3, or 4 are also provided.
