Tiny IR Filament Sensor
thingiverse
I'm excited to share this initial version of my filament sensor! I've opted for affordable infrared sensors from eBay and created a housing that encases them while allowing the filament to pass through. To enhance performance, you can add a section of PTFE tubing inside. To ensure a snug fit, the PTFE tube may need trimming before insertion into the sensor. This will leave only a 1.75mm gap between the infrared sensor and the filament. I've printed this design using a 0.25mm nozzle, but you might be able to achieve similar results with a 0.4mm nozzle - I just haven't tried it yet. To assemble your filament sensor, you'll need: * 2 x M3x10mm screws * 2 x M3 nuts
