Tiny-G Electronics Stand
thingiverse
I designed a custom stand for my Shapeoko 2 CNC Mod to hold my TinyG electronics. The design was done in Solidworks and the process was relatively straightforward. I built the stand using .25" Acrylic and particle board, a cost-effective material commonly used in house construction. Interestingly, I acquired a full sheet of particle board for free after it fell off a delivery truck right in front of my house. This unexpected find was put to good use in my projects. I sourced all necessary components from online retailer Ebay. The on/off switch is an electrical toggle switch that allows easy control over the system's power supply. Specifically, the "On/Off Toggle Switch - Nickel Plated - 6A/120V - Steampunk Switch - 2-Wire" model provided by Ebay meets my needs. In addition to the on/off switch, I added a push-on-push-off button as an emergency stop mechanism. This essential component is connected to a cable and serves as a crucial safety feature for my CNC Mod setup. The Judco J188 model is the specific product used, known for its durability and reliability. The ventilation system consists of a powerful 80mmX80mm 12VDC fan covered by a protective shield. Unlike other components, this particular item was not sourced from Ebay but acquired elsewhere. Its primary function is to keep the internal environment of the CNC Mod well-ventilated and efficient. A reliable power supply is also crucial for proper operation. I utilize the Delta PMT 24V 150W Panel Mount Power Supply model for consistent and high-quality voltage regulation. The Mean Well MW NES-150-24 series it belongs to holds multiple certifications, including TUV/UL/CB/CE, indicating its high safety standards. Fastening components such as screws, nuts, and locknuts were obtained from supply distributor McMaster Carr. I chose these particular parts due to their high-quality materials and durability. The specific models used include the SHCS (M3X30) for fastening, spacers, and M3 nylon-lined locknuts.
