The Miniature Birdcage is a compact representation of an ordinary birdcage. Birds would land on a pole and seeds would be stored in a tray. The interior is completely empty, but the roof area is not. It can be made hollow if desired. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A MODEL OF A BIRDHOUSE, AND NOT AN ACTUAL BIRDHOUSE. Preparation Know how to sketch basic shapes and extrude them. This project is ideal for a class because each student can customize it uniquely. Steps Since the interior is empty, you must create all four walls and a floor, then extrude them. Make a triangle on top and extrude it. Make a circular cut in the center. Make a smaller circle below that and extrude it. (Optional) Make a small tray on the bottom of the front. Should be 2 by 2 by 2. (inches) Results By the end of this project, students should have created a customized model birdcage.
