This custom top and base is tailored specifically to accommodate Tint Tubes used by numerous Christmas Light displays across Australia. The 78mm inner diameter tubes create an engaging and affordable lighting effect when illuminated from within with LED or Pixel strip illumination. Designed to seal the upper and lower sections of the tube, this cap ensures a weather-tight fit, keeping dust, dirt, and other external elements out of the tube. Meanwhile, the bottom slot enables easy cable entry while restricting the influx of grass and bugs. At just 5mm thick, these caps are not only unobtrusive but also rapid and budget-friendly to print. Optimal results are achieved when printing with 2 wall thicknesses, a 15% infill rate, and color/material choices that suit your project requirements. For the original design, I employed white ABS material, allowing some of the illumination from the Tint Tube to pass through and become part of the display's aesthetic. Although they fit snugly via press fit, adding silicone sealant ensures they remain securely in place without risk of dislodgement.
