Here is my entry for the Tinkercad summer fun challenge, a unique sprinkler system featuring three 3D printed animals - a rhino, a frog, and an elephant. Each animal can be attached to a garden hose or a disposable water bottle. I also designed a specialized gasket that ensures a watertight seal is created. To take it a step further, you could modify the threads in Tinkercad to screw directly onto threaded PVC pipe. All of these designs are optimized for printing on a Monoprice Select Mini V2 3D printer with a maximum print size of 120mm x 120mm x 120mm. I printed the elephant using "bubble gum pink" PETG from Makergeeks, while the rhino and frog were printed with "vivid teal" Raptor Series food safe PLA from the same company. The gasket was printed with white flexible filament from Solutech. Please note that flexible filament can be tricky to print, so you may also consider using a pre-made gasket from another source. The gasket needs to be pushed down into the threads and onto the shelf inside, which requires some force due to its tight fit. Once in place, simply screw the animal on carefully. The animals are designed for easy movement and detachment from your hose or water bottle (or any other item you choose to attach them to). I have created two possible setups using PVC pipe that are pictured here. To build both setups, you will need to purchase a long piece of 3/4 inch PVC, depending on how long you want various parts to be. You'll also need six 3/4 inch PVC elbows, six 3/4 inch PVC T connectors, eight 3/4 inch male threaded adapters, two threaded 3/4 inch PVC caps (for when you don't want to use all the animals at once), and an adapter that connects to the threaded PVC and your hose (this may vary based on your hose style and size). The design utilizes the ISO Metric Thread shape generator, which can be adjusted as needed to screw onto different items.
