Tina Whoop prop guard braces

Tina Whoop prop guard braces

I enjoy flying my Tina Whoop with an Insta360 GO on board to get smooth cinematic footage in wide open and confined spaces, but the prop guards aren't very durable, especially on the bottom where they're more likely to hit the ground. I've cracked/broken 7 of the 8 that came with the craft, you can see the front two on the craft are cracked but the braces hold them great. So when I ordered a new set of guards I took some accurate measurements to come up with this brace to give some strength to the guards at their weakest areas. Even when the struts break (they're there for tension strength not compression strength) they still help strengthen the guard. You need to print this in PETG because it has a little bit of flexibility that PLA just doesn't have. TPU is way too flexible, nylon might be good (post in comments if you try it). PETG, 0.15mm or 0.2mm layer height, no support needed. You'll need two M2 screws or M2 bolts to attach them to the guards. Print time for 1 is about 10-13 minutes, which is nice because it's much easier & quicker to reprint and replace than the whole guard which requires you to desolder & resolder the motor. I included a picture showing the dimensions I used to place the mount holes of the prop guards, if you have access to a carbon cutter, a 1mm plate thickness semi-circular piece that attaches to the 60 / 135 / 225 / 300 degree mount holes would probably be much better than this print. I've also now included a strutless version because it seems the struts break too easily, but it still gives the guard much needed strength against breakages so I figured why not print it without the struts in the first place.
