Tina de vino
sketchfab
A wine-making deposit formed from a semi-excavated cylindrical pit in the rock used for winemaking. The process began with the collection of the grape cluster, which was carried by carriers to the top of the vat, where wooden crossbeams were placed slightly apart. The cluster was poured onto the wood and trampled with feet. The liquid that came out, called must, fell into the deposit pit. Once full, the space was sealed and fermentation of the liquid began. After completion, the wine was extracted and stored in barrels for maturation. This type of structure was very common in Catalonia from the 18th century until the arrival of phylloxera at the end of the 19th century.
