Tina 2 'Upgrade' Anti Z Wobble

Tina 2 'Upgrade' Anti Z Wobble

Among other larger printers I have a wonderful tiny TINA2 "Upgrade" version. This is a STM32 variant of the previous, well known arduino-based TINA2. I have made some enhancements to my printer, hardware and software via custom Marlin firmware being able to use better extruders or change menu or default settings. After a week of use of it, I noticed a Z-wobble caused by a free Z rod oscillating by vibrations transmited from the x carriage and hot-end. I just put my thumb on the top of the Z rod pressing a bit and that vibrations dissapeared. So I designed a part that holds fixed the threaded rod to the plain rod avoiding this problem and enhancing the print quality of the machine. The installation required press-fit the part to the plain Z-rod and slicing the 685ZZ bearing contained in the part to the top of the threaded Z-rod (this has a 5mm diameter machining end) fixing it in place with a 16mm M4 screw and nut. So, that is what you will need to build this mod. 1xM4 16mm bolt and nut, and a cheap 685ZZ bearing (5mm height x 11mm diam x 5mm inner diam). Results are worth the effort, I promise. Before trying this mod just check you have the 5mm machining on top of your Z threaded rod. Otherwise you will have to modify the part to use a different bearing, a 608ZZ for example as I did on my first attempt. Not sure if this part works for other versions of the printer than my Entina Tina2 'Upgrade'. This is a very precise solution, adjusted to the tenths of milimeter, it took me 8 attempts till I got the perfect part, So don't redimension it. I used PLA plus as material due to its increased elasticity and shock resistance besides normal PLA. For those of you thinking about the posibility of the z threaded rod being decentered remember that this part autocenters every homing movement of the machine, an extra feature of the design I didn't expect. You can install It without even dismounting the upper pane. Just tighten the screw could be a bit tricky due to limited space. Stops noises and Z-Wobble on your Tina2 for cheap. Now !! Cheers.
