The most recent iteration of my open-source building toy is now available. This new version, identified as 3.0, introduces end hubs, a feature that makes it possible to create structures based on tetrahedrons with ease. These tetrahedral structures are essentially space frames and possess impressive strength-to-weight ratios. STL files for the basic parts of this design have been included in the downloadable package, but those interested in exploring the many variations available can find them in the attached SketchUp file. I am pleased with the new capabilities provided by end hubs and am a little surprised that it took me this long to conceive of such an option.
