Tin Can Fly Trap
thingiverse
A simple fly trap, fitting over an empty tin can's rim, employs the strategy of attracting flies via a scent-laden bait. As these insects are drawn towards the can's top light and air vents, they eventually tire and fall into the water at the bottom, drowning. To set up this trap, place a piece of liver (an effective bait) and 10-20mm of water in the can. Secure the trap top, then position it in a warm location where flies will congregate. Within hours, you'll see flies entering but not escaping the can. Alternatively, use dry bait to keep them alive for other purposes like frog food.
