Dealing with delayed projects, 10.3mm wide T2.5 timing belts had to be cut to 5mm due to unavailable local suppliers. After reading a blog post on reprap, a CNC-able jig was designed for precise cutting. The latest version features a 3mm slot for adjusting blade position to avoid metal strands within the belt. Test by feeding a few mm of belt into the jig and check if the cut is accurate before proceeding with more forceful cuts. Ensure safety measures are in place, as this could be dangerous. Gcode file for MDF cutting and milling available; however, editing is necessary to fix slow speeds caused by ramping motion. This method has been proven effective.
