Timex Ironman Triathalon - Lower Watch Strap
thingiverse
This is a replacement lower watch strap designed for Timex Ironman Triathalon digital watches, engineered as a result of my original plastic-y rubber strap splitting across due to wear and eventually breaking in half. Deciding it was time to create a new one, I drew inspiration from this existing item on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:627447). For reference, the width of this new strap at the pin end measures about 16mm. A key note for users is that flexible filament is not required; despite its narrowness, this strap stands out as thin enough to be supple but sturdy due to being only 0.5mm wide, guaranteeing long-term usability provided a user refrains from applying excessive force. I have been wearing my replacement strap successfully over multiple days with no signs of damage so far. For the printing process, infill may not be a critical concern, given this item's innate thinness; however, an 10% fill rate will be perfectly acceptable for users seeking additional strength without overdoing it. Printing layers at 0.15mm thickness produced impressive results. Notably, printing two shells and running tests with an authentic speed of 50m/s were pivotal in delivering high precision during the manufacturing process. All prints were successfully made using True Black filament at 220 degrees Celsius on a well-calibrated MakerBot Replicator 2 device.
