Adafruit's community is enjoying its TIMESQUARE DIY Watch kits (https://www.adafruit.com/products/1106) so much that they wanted to offer another fun activity. Matt Griffin redesigned the watch enclosure, making it more friendly and organic in shape. The new design can be attached to a backpack strap or worn as a necklace fob or pocket watch. Adafruit provides all files needed for creating your own derivative TIMESQUARE enclosure. Learn about the TIMESQUARE DIY Watch Kit - Red Display Matrix here: https://www.adafruit.com/products/1106. To assemble your TIMESQUARE watch kit, carefully solder components close to the PCB. Download and print out the required 3D files for the enclosure and buttons. Clear support material from the main enclosure and buckle. Insert Small Buttons into the rounded openings on the side of the watch enclosure. Insert the button battery and place electronics in the case. Attach a strap or fob by threading a 20mm ribbon through one of the large strap bays at the top or bottom of the watch. Use TSbar to lock the strap in place either on the inside for a pocket watch or fob attachment or on the outside to loop the strap down across the backplate to pin electronics when configured as a watch for wrist or backpack straps. Various configurations are possible, with the best for small arms using the backplate to thread the strap out through the middle slots.
