Time

Alrighty! This one's a doozy, covering a lot for this concept. For my still life class, I tackled the prompt of Time, initially envisioning an animation that captured each frame as a single image. But after revisiting Quill, I wanted to push the painting feel even further. I stuck with basic stroke structures, not full-on paintings, but simple enough for forms to be understood. Meanwhile, I experimented with painting objects in both 2D and 3D perspectives. The falling glass is a great example of this – it starts as mostly flat 2D paintings, then shifts into 3D volumes as it rolls on the table, before reverting to 2D as it falls off. I employed post effects to make it more "painty," using SSAO to subtly enhance brushstrokes and color correction to achieve the right brightness levels.
