The gear mounts on my Timber X worked loose, so I had to glue them back in place after that happened. Deciding to take preventive action, I designed a cross member to provide extra support for this area and prevent any future issues from arising. The design is tailored specifically for the Timber X, but it might also fit other Timber planes with some adjustments. To ensure easy removal if needed, I attached the cross member using Goop, which provides a strong hold without being too permanent. Finally, I printed the part with PETG at 50% infill and was pleased to find that it turned out sturdy yet not brittle.
