I needed to modify my existing wall openings to accommodate my brand new Fritz!box 7590 modem router without drilling additional holes, so I adapted a project by partovic with some tweaks to create central holes. As you can see in the photos, the modem router now fits snugly and is easy to remove, providing improved airflow with extra space between it and the wall.
