Tilting Windows Protection for Cats
thingiverse
Reading this article, it becomes clear that a protecting grille for tilting windows is an essential must-have for cat owners. I'm attempting my first DIY project to create these protections. This design is intended for standard windows with a 16cm gap in the upper corner. As I have plastic windows, screws won't work, but thin transparent double-sided adhesive tape from 3M allows the grilles to stick firmly to the window. The grille's foot will be pressed against the window frame by the seal of the closed window when mounted as shown in the photo, making it stable enough for curious cats. Edit 2017/09/23: New models with screw holes have been added for those who prefer to secure the parts using screws on the window frame. Edit 2017/09/24: Additional "Top" models have been included to address the upper gap of windows, preventing furnaces from escaping if they're used as a ladder.
