Tilted PCR rack/plate holder
thingiverse
This is a PCR rack holder that tilts the rack 10° towards you, allowing you to read the labels and see inside the wells without straining your neck. It accepts this type of PCR tube rack, measuring approximately 128 mm long, 88 mm wide, and 15 mm tall: The example shown is sold by Sigma-Aldrich, but a similar design is offered as a rebranded item by many other sellers, such as here and here. Just look for the distinctive lugs on the sides of the rack, which enable it to hook into a PCR workstation. To complete your holder, you should add self-adhesive rubber feet to the bottom. Choosing tall feet will give the holder sufficient clearance from the table to accommodate skirtless 96-well PCR plates, with the wells protruding through the large hole. Of course, skirtless plates fit directly into the racks themselves (as shown in the preview photo above), so you have a choice. To insert a PCR rack, slide it in from the top. The holder narrows towards the bottom, pinching the rack and holding it securely in place. Print Settings Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 10% Changelog v1, October 5, 2016 Initial release.
