This is a ball and socket joint for mounting models on posts as used in Star Wars X-wing, Star Trek Attack Wing, and perhaps other games. The joint allows models to rotate freely and tilt up to about 35 degrees.There are two parts and two versions (4 total), a positive and negative, a ball and a socket.The negative version is intended to be inserted into a custom model, by drilling and gluing or printing in place as part of the model. It looks the cleanest, but is more work. I use a 1/4" or a 6 mm drill bit.The positive version is intended for use in retail style models that already have a slot ready to accept a post. It doesn't require a custom model, but it is more visible.These parts are very small, so layers of .1mm and .4 mm nozzles or smaller are recommended.
