TIKKA T3 LITE - RECOIL ARREESTOR
thingiverse
Prototyping a Spring Loaded Recoil Pad for a Tikka T3 Lite (Compact) Bill of Materials has parts sourced from McMaster Carr that have been carefully selected and called out. The next version will boast the addition of Brass Bushings, but this current design works remarkably well and the spring can be adjusted to suit your personal preference. The rubber grommet seen in action worked incredibly well, and springs also work wonderfully - try a 15-20lb for optimal results. Rifle images showcase the crude initial prototype with an exposed spring, but the new design cleverly houses the spring within the stock itself. This recoil pad was printed using urethane, a material that boasts excellent absorbing properties. The best part is that you can adjust the infill density to tailor its performance - 35% infill and 2mm wall thickness seemed to work extremely well. This custom recoil pad has enough potential to replace the original Rock Hard pad outright - simply attach it to your Tikka T3 Lite and enjoy enhanced shooting comfort. Alternatively, it can be used as a standalone solution. After some trial and error, the sliding recoil arrestor proves itself to be an effective countermeasure against recoil - rendering the shot feel like nothing at all.
