Tigger Sun Catcher
thingiverse
To test the limits of simple printing, I decided to create a sun catcher without relying on complex mechanisms. Here's my attempt with Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. The frame serves as a guide, much like the leading in a stained glass window. To achieve this look, it needs to be printed using transparent filament with a deliberate switch to black at the layer where the lead lines would typically be located. After completion, the colored pieces are carefully glued into their corresponding "gaps" within the frame. I used PVA glue and allowed it to set over several days to ensure a strong bond. While PLA was my preferred choice for filament, I sometimes had to resort to PET when I couldn't find a suitable translucent or transparent PLA in the desired color. This approach worked most of the time, but occasionally, I needed to sand down the PET pieces slightly to get them to fit properly.
