Tiger Tank
sketchfab
The Tiger is a German heavy tank created during World War II. It was the largest and heaviest tank ever made at that time, weighing over 56 tons. The first prototype was finished on May 1942, with serial production starting in August of the same year. The Tiger's armor is up to 100mm thick, making it nearly impervious to most anti-tank weapons used during the war. Its main armament consists of an 88mm gun that can fire high-explosive rounds or armor-piercing shells at a rate of six rounds per minute. German forces started using the Tiger on the Eastern Front in August 1942, with initial results being mixed. However, as more Tigers were deployed and tactics improved, they became nearly unstoppable on the battlefield. The Tiger's size made it difficult to transport, especially over rough terrain, which limited its mobility. Nevertheless, the tank played a crucial role in many battles, including Kursk and Berlin. After the war, several countries used captured Tigers as the basis for their own tank designs, but none achieved the same level of success.
