Nibelheim Tifa Lockhart, also known by her last name Lockheart, is a playable character in Final Fantasy VII and the deuteragonist of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. She also plays a significant role in Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII- and Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-. As Cloud Strife's childhood friend, Tifa is a member of AVALANCHE. Tifa reconnects with her childhood friend Cloud from Nibelheim after losing contact for years. When they meet again, she persuades him to join AVALANCHE, the resistance group she is part of, to fight against Shinra Electric Power Company. She bears a deep-seated hatred for Shinra due to their destructive actions in their hometown. As a trusted ally and comrade, Tifa supports Cloud throughout his battles, providing emotional encouragement and support. Her empathetic nature makes her a motherly figure to her teammates.
