Human: NOTE: JUST ADDED THE 2 AND 3 CABLE GROUP BARS. 1-27-17 11:20AM CDT Wanted to make a cable organizer that I could use on tywraps and mount around the base of walls and also on rafter beams in attics to route and organize cable runs. Found a few online but they were not what I needed or didn't seem strong enough to support the cables I wanted to run. This is a very strong mount when printed solid and will support a large number of heavy cables or group of cables. How strong? Depends on how strong your tywraps are! Screwed this down, attached 20 cat5e cables to it with a tywrap and then tried pulling it loose. With a lot of effort I ended up breaking the tywrap before the mount would break. Printed this in ABS. Could even print them in different colors to represent different runs of cable (I.E. Data, security, fiber, etc..) This is the 5 group version with screws between each group. Will be uploading a 2 and 3 group version later on today. NOTE: The openings are close together so if you have a small group of cables it will keep them in a good secure bundle. With that being said you will most likely have to help guide the tywrap thru the holes. Found a trick that if you take the very tip of the tywrap and bend it into a hook ish shape it makes the inserting of the tywrap easier. Could also pre-install your tywraps before you screwed it to your surface. Print Settings Printer: FlashForge Creator Pro Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: .20 Infill: 100% Notes: Ok Raft or no Raft? Depends on how well your filament adheres to the print bed. Use glass and glue stick so mine sticks right to the table. As some advice: If you use a raft it will always help provide you print a nice level surface to start with, unless you have a really really really out of level print bed. Supports? Up to you! There is the little bridge that holds the tywrap to the main bar and if your printer doesn't do bridging very well I would use supports (I did with mine even though it does a fair job of bridging small areas). Post-Printing There is really not too much post print stuff to do except remove it from the raft (if you used one) or remove the supports (again if you used them). Depending on your printer you may have to clean out the tywrap passages and maybe the mounting screw holes. How I Designed This Used 123D Design to design it and Simplify3D to print it.
