You'd best look to tiefling if you're after making an enchanter, as they bring that charisma bonus right to the forefront. And if charisma-based casters aren't exactly your cup of tea, you've got options - just slap some sorcerer or warlock on this fella and I won't even notice. Do what makes you happy.
