The Imperial Tie Advanced X1, or Darth Vader's Tie Fighter, is intricately designed but not entirely accurate model that can be completely printed without any troublesome overhangs or bridges. It boasts alignment pegs for easily joining the two halves together. The featured model was printed using a Fablicator from<|im_start|>: www.Fablicator.com. I found Chanson's detailed Solidworks model on GrabCAD and made significant adjustments to make it printable while retaining as much detail as possible. You can find the original design here: http://grabcad.com/library/darth-vaders-tie-fighter. To print, manufacture the two halves in PLA for optimal results; ABS/HIPS will suffice with a full height skirt to prevent warping. I recommend using .2mm layer height for superior detailing. Finally, seal the two halves with superglue and rule your galaxy with an iron hand, always safeguarding your exhaust ports.
